THE ACKWORTH HOUSE PROCESS OF STAIRCASE DESIGN AND INSTALLATION
At Ackworth House, we don’t do things haphazardly. Our all-in-one service ensures that our stair designers and experts work on your project from the initial meeting and planning down to the finishing touches and aftercare. Each client undergoes our process of consultation, proposal, engineering, design, project management, manufacture, installation and aftercare. This offers you the convenience of working with only one supplier throughout the entire project, saving you precious time and eliminating unnecessary hassle.
CONSULTATION
Our staircases come in various designs and you can also design or customise your own staircase. We can handle any of the ideas you have or the specifications you require as we offer a wide selection of bespoke stair solutions in a variety of styles and materials such as steel and timber. Planning your custom staircase design is easy. Book an appointment to meet us at our showroom and we'll discuss your vision. You can also try out our life size staircase samples.
PROPOSAL
Based on the plans that you have for your creative staircase design, we will provide you with a proposal. The proposal includes a detailed plan on how we are going to engineer, design, manufacture and install your dream staircase. To make things convenient for you, we will coordinate all the tradesmen required for the job to ensure seamless transition from one step of the project to the next. Once you approve our proposal, we will begin the project as soon as possible.
ENGINEERING
One of the biggest concerns when adding a staircase to your space is safety. Every commercial establishment and residential home have building code requirements and safety standards to meet. At Ackworth House, all of our innovative stair designs are engineered to meet New Zealand building regulations. This means we can provide you with PS1 specific to your site. You can submit it to your council alongside your building's consent. This prevents any delays in the project time line and ensures that your staircase is safe and code compliant.
DESIGN
Following our stair designing services, our professional draftsman will generate the details for your staircase and balustrade as well as create shop drawings for the manufacture and installation. They will take into account all your style preferences, material dimensions and other technical specifications. Your staircase will be equipped with exclusive engineering features that support its stability and elevate its aesthetics. Durable finishes will also be paired with decorative details, such as balustrades and tread covers, for a centrepiece that will truly stand out and last.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT

MANUFACTURE

After installing your new staircase, we will send you our Job Completion form. Once you sign and return it to us, we will provide you with an Aftercare Kit to help maintain the beauty of your stairs that will last you many years.
